30x60 Barndominium Floor Plans
A 30x60 barndominium has 1,800 square feet in a long shell: on a 60 ft front it gives an 18 ft wide primary suite and a 26 ft great room, and on a 30 ft front it lines four bedrooms along a central hall. Four layouts, measured and priced, each one editable.

Living in a long, narrow shell
A 30x60 is a steel building that is twice as long as it is wide, and that proportion decides the plan. With the 60 ft side to the road, the house reads as a long ranch: the primary wing is 18 ft wide, wide enough for a king bed with room to walk around it, and the great room between the wings is 26 ft across. Each end of the house gets light from three sides.
With the 30 ft side to the road, the same building becomes a deep plan with a hall running almost its whole length. That is the layout for four real bedrooms: the hallway four gives a 13.5 ft wide primary suite and three 13 x 12 ft bedrooms.
Garage or shop on a 30x60
Search results for this size are full of 30x60 metal building kits, and some plans, such as a 1,200 sq ft home with a garage in the same shell, split the building between living space and a garage bay. The layouts here keep all 1,800 sq ft heated and attach the garage or the shop behind the house instead, so the living space keeps its windows on three sides. You can still split the shell in the editor: drag the wall of the far wing and rename the room.
Compare the two versions directly: with the 2-car garage and with the shop.
Cost to build a 30x60 barndominium
At $80 to $120 per square foot, Houseplans.com's 2026 range for a standard finished barndominium, a 1,800 sq ft house costs about $144,000 to $216,000 before land. The full range of $65 to $160 per square foot puts it between $117,000 and $288,000, and a conventionally framed house of the same size at $130 to $180 per square foot would be $234,000 to $324,000.
For the kit route, Realtor.com quotes complete kits at $150,000 to $350,000 depending on size and finish, with plans at $1,500 to $2,000 for a stock set. The calculator puts land, site work and plans on top of the house.

Which 30x60 layout to start from
Start from the long three if the lot is wide and you want a garage; from the hallway four if the lot is narrow or you need four bedrooms with two baths; from the four bedroom, one bath plan if the budget comes first. Every plan here is a starting point: move the walls until the rooms match the furniture you own, then take the result to your builder.
Need more room than 1,800 sq ft? The 40x60 plans add 600 sq ft and a flex room.
